Visiting Prague with children?
Historical Tram
Nostalgic Tram No. 91 departures
every hour starting at noon from the tram depot Stresovice, it takes you along
Prague Castle and through historical centre of Prague to Vystaviste. This year
this tram goes in both directions and it starts run from the end of March (29th)
until 16th November every Saturday, Sunday and holidays. Tickets are sold in
the tram (different charges apply to these historical trams).If you wish to
arrange for a larger group or a private party it is possible to arrange at museum
MHD Praha.
Matejska Fun Fair
This year we have 40th anniversary
of Matejska Fun Fair held at Prague’s Vystaviste in Prague 7. Starting
on the name day of Matej on 22nd February the fun fair will last until 21st
April with only a short break for handicap children that will come on the 17th
March. Mondays are closed but rest of the week is open from 2 p.m. – 10.p.m.
and at the weekends from 10 a.m. – 10 p.m. Fun fair can offer over 130
attraction, Water World, Death Wall, Toboggan, World of Giant Insect or Lost
World of Dinosaurs.

The Tyrs Museum
– Tyrs House
For the ones who is interested in
sport, this exhibition will show you the beginning of Czech Physical Education,
History of the Sokol movement from 1862 – 2000 and the current exhibition
will introduce you all dimensions of life of Dana and Emil Zatopek, two of the
most important people of the Czechoslovakian and world history of light athletics.
Tyrs House at Hellichova street is open on Thursday, Saturday and Sunday from
9 a.m. – 5 p.m. There is an extra charge for filming or photographing.

National Theatre
One
of the most well preserved neo-Renaissance building
Designed by Josef Zitek between 1868 – 1681 on the site of the former
salthouse
The construction was financed by a collection across the whole nation
The first play was 11.6.1881, the nearly completed building burnt down
Thanks to another national collection that followed, the theatre was reconstructed
and extended under the direction of J. Schulz
The final re-opening was on 18.11.1883
So called artists “ the generation or the National Theatre” participated
in theatre decorations incl. the sculptors J.V. Myslbek, B. Schnirch or painters
F. Zenisek, M. Ales, J. Marak and many others.
