| The Czech republic is
situated as close to the center of Europe as you can get (geographically
not politically) and as such is accessible from all directions and
by all methods except sea (well you could sail up the Vlata but
lets be sensible).
Prague is served by regular rail, road and air services, with direct
flights from the USA. The airport has recently been been given a
face lift and modernized and can now even accommodate biplanes (OK
English humor). The airport is in fact very nice and transit through
is generally fast and smooth, with the usual barrage of duty free
shopping ,coffee shops and bars. However one thing to note is there
is no newsagent, in fact there is nowhere to buy your gum or in-flight
magazine (lose 1 point for thoughtfulness).
Unfortunately and unknown to many the duty-free is not as cheap
as would first appear, in fact you can buy cigarettes and drinks
cheaper in the city, I'm not to sure about Cartier I'm only a poor
web guy (if this sites takes off perhaps I'll find out).
The main bus station Florenc is in the middle of the city next
to the main train station and metro. |
